Public Service
The Juvenile Probation Unit (JPU) entertains referrals from the juvenile's parents/family, the Department of Public Safety and the Public School System even if the juvenile has not been placed on Probation or in the Diversion Program. The Juvenile Probation Unit Officers are tasked to do the intake and refer the juvenile and/or his or her family to other agencies that provide the recommended services. Such referrals include: Parenting Program Child Protective Unit Volunteer Program Counseling Foster Care Program Nutrition Assistance Program (food stamps) Workforce Investment Agency NMC/Adult Basic Education |
